Another side of Tara Tainton’s “infinite variety”: Tara the Storyteller. This is a real movie, with thought-out pacing that moves a complete story along. Another virtue would include Tara’s comic abilities: in the first portion, she’s like one of those Single-Girl heroines from the Sixties and Seventies, dealing with life’s mundane problems — such as TINY boxes she can’t lift, LOL — by whining about them in a fatally adorable manner. Staring hopelessly at the, oh, 2 or 3 boxes on the floor (I’m grinning as I type this), she says woefully, “I need a boyfriend. I guess this is the reason you need one …” KO’d by Charm Offensive — Game Over.

We even get a bit of F/X: slo-mo! Good times. Whatever editing software Tara used for this is still superior to what was used in the original “Wonder Woman” show from the late Seventies, the original airings of which I actually remember. (Yes. We’d watch the show and then go out and raise barns and dance to jugband music, too.) I also remember Lynda Carter’s contribution to my own prepubescent stirrings: her impassive china-doll face, calmly lifting cars, tying men up with her Golden Lasso, getting what she wanted from them while they hopelessly submitted to her power. Many years later, in the Nineties, while gofering coffee for a dickhead actor, I ran into Ms. Carter at a bakery on La Cienega. I wish I’d had the guts to thank her for planting the seed of a life-long sexual obsession.

I may have missed that opportunity, but I won’t this one: thank you, Tara, for your funny, charming, and finally sexy WW movie. :) We can all thank her, but, really, I think the fantasy is probably hers: to be physically indomitable, confident, irresistibly sexy, and nabbing that guy for whom she has carried a torch might constitute every young woman’s secret dreams. Fair enough. At least we can tag along as her sidekick as she, “in her satin tights, fighting for her rights and the old Red White and Blue” sets right the world’s wrongs, of which there are so many.

:D I can’t stop smiling. What an incredible video! This appealed to so many of my tastes: the comic nerd in me, my love of strong, sexy women, as well as my desire for the best friend fantasy. It was like this was made for me!

I loved your transformation into a powerful, confident woman. I think you could give Lou Ferrigno a run for his money with how ripped apart your clothes and really “hulked out”. You picked a great costume, and you have some excellent muscle tone. I could tell how much fun you were having with this, showing off for the camera and especially when you’re throwing around the boxes. I had to laugh at the slow motion kick of that really big one. You also made me jump when you rushed wielding that office chair.

When the scene transitions to you after you calm down, I thought it was really cool that you had your sweet, calm alter ego, channeling a little Clark Kent/Superman, who is one of my favorite superheroes. I love the way you comfort me as your best friend, helping me get over a bad break up. I’ve always enjoyed this fantasy, and I’m very happy to have you in it. When you open up to me about how you’ve changed, I love how open you are. Although, if that comment about you never working out is true, then I’m really jealous because I work out almost every day to keep myself in shape.

When you finally decide to prove to me how you’ve changed by revealing your costume, I love the look in your eyes when you tell me to “sit in place and watch” because “you’re not the girl you used to be”. You have my full attention :)

Everything after with how want me, your best friend, really hit home on my fantasy. I won’t spoil it for those about to experience this amazing journey, but the ending was a dream come (or maybe cum) true.

Now, we just have to think of your superhero name. How about Golden Goddess? No, your costume is more than just gold. Wonder Woman? Already taken. Hmmm, I’ve got one in mind, I don’t know if you will like it, but I think The Taintoness has a nice ring to it ;)
