So, there are a lot of us prowling around online, saying our peace, telling
our explicit erotic tales, and promoting erotic living in general. Yet,
actual opportunities for us to get together, in the real world, are few and
far between. We're sex bloggers, writing publicly to promote sex-positivity,
freedom of expression, open-mindedness, and sexual liberation. We're here to
say SEX IS OKAY, cause the majority of the world still doesn't realize
that's true. I was completely thrilled when my sex blogging pal, DH Spicy, set up a chat space on his site and came up with the brilliant idea to pull sex bloggers from around the globe together in that swanky little chat room for some real-time "interaction." It's a well known fact that we have had a lot of fun in there. It's a chance to do what we love and do it together. What's better than that. "Spicy," as he's affectionately named likes to pull us sex blog owners together every now and then for a chatroom rendezvous. Stay tuned into his chatroom index page for the next scheduled "get together." If you're a sex blogger yet-to-be-acquainted with Spicy himself, send him a note, share your online creation with him, and let him know you can play nice if you're invited to the next sexy session online.
On that note, I was very intrigued and surprised, to come across a particular entry by Tony on the Comstock Films blog. Leave it up to New York City to lead the way in all creative endeavors, especially in taking the online community and its achievements seriously. In his latest entry, Tony reports on an event in NYC that brings sex bloggers from the online community offline... to meet and share their writing, interests, finds, and a bit about themselves. All live, real, and face-to-face. Meeting up in NYC's Perverts Saloon on April 3rd, will be, in Tony's own words, "A family of strangers are New York City’s Sex Bloggers - online writers, telling tales of their sex lives in this City. Parents in their 40’s, sex workers in their 20’s, professionals with 9 - 5 jobs or stay-at-home dads - male, female, straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual - these writers’ narratives have one thing in common: they are sexually explicit. You’ll find stories that twist real-life narratives together: parents helping their kids with homework, then later, deflowering a stranger of his anal virginity; tensions on the train to work, then helping a friend’s wife to orgasm. Their tangled tales of exploration and conquest, freedom, exhibition and love will be told aloud and in person for the first time when the bloggers show their faces and read from their work at the New York City Perverts’ Saloon." Fascinating! Now, I'd never be able to depend on the good old city of Indianapolis to bring together local sex bloggers. We'd probably all be charged and dragged out of a local pub for our heinous intellectual crimes. If I was staying here in the Midwest, I might be desperate enough to risk prosecution and reach out to local sex bloggers myself for a little community connection. For now, I'll forego that effort and focus on what Las Vegas has to offer. But this news reported by Tony presents a great question. Are there other events or locations on the globe focused on bringing writers and webmasters of explicit blogs and sites together? If so, share them with me! I'd love to share the information here for all of us to partake of and gain from. It's about time we get together to make the same impact offline as we do online. If there aren't local gatherings for us that we're aware of, maybe we should start some. You know, hop on community forums and call out to our fellow sex bloggers who'd brave showing their faces and be willing to come together to make great things happen. Heck, this time in the America's political and cultural life definitely requires more of our open-minded and free-spirited voices to be known and heard.
