It's quickly spreading throughout the online community of bloggers of
explicit content. Someone - no, lots of folks - are plagiarizing our work
for their own benefit. There's no credit given to the original writer or
creator, no return link to the owner's site. Others are deciding to make
blogging really easy by stealing another's blog entries. It's happened to Always Aroused Girl and Anastasia of Sexualite as well. There are numerous others affected by the sweep of plagiarism. And we thought that the recent trend of hacking adult bloggers on free and public blogging platforms was the real "fun." It's pathetic. There are folks out there who, instead of exercising their own creativity and fantasies or even making their lives what they really want them to be, are stealing others sexually explorative lives. Really, is it necessary? What do you really gain from grabbing someone else's public blog entries and pasting them into your own blog as if you've just lived those moments or had that fantasy yourself?
We all know that bad karma is headed the plagiarists' way. They'll get there's, and it won't be pretty. Some of them have already been discovered, and I'm sure many more are on the way. This all has come to the surface recently because the blogging community, mainstream and adult, are banning together to support and protect each other. When it comes down to it, we're all artists just wanting to exercise our right to creative freedom. We want to express ourselves and share to enlighten and mingle with others. When one of us is threatened; we all take it personally. A perfect example of that is the recent action of Alex and Suze at AlexSuze.com. They know that not all bloggers can afford to come out of anonymity to file an official report, seek support when a plagiarist has attacked, or even have the knowledge or means to track down the culprit and demand a solution. Alex & Suze have created a form for submitting your case or report the occurrence of content theft and safely, securely take action against the plagiarist. A network of trustworthy fellow blog owners will research your case and bring the bad guys to justice. And how fulfilling is that?!
Read more of the details at AlexSuze.com. And don't forget to thank them for donating their own time and knowledge to benefit us all. Plant this animated button on your own site or blog and hyperlink it to lead other bloggers to a source that can help them or provide additional resources.
If you don't think you've been a focus of the attack yet, keep your eye out. Be a great supporter of the blogging community and continue to meet, greet, and read fellow bloggers. In the process, keep your eye out for what may seem to be repeats of of your favorite blog entries and sexy stories. Those innocent-seeming copies of the work of your favorite bloggers may not come with any reference back to the rightful owner of the work or any other acknowledgement that a copyright is taken into consideration. And keep a special eye out when enjoying the members' sexy blogs at Adult FriendFinder. You can enjoy and read them for free, and we know that at least one plagiarist had posted up a blog there using content stolen from one of our favorite erotic bloggers. As a writer and a reader, it's always good to brush up on your rights and responsibilities. Start by reading my article on "Your Rights as a Blogger: Part I."
