Rave Review for Tara Tainton.com

The very first "official" site review for my new website is in, and I'm positively glowing: "Tara Tainton - New Kid on the Block" by Jaynie R. It's not the acceptance by another that's so thrilling but the fact that someone else "gets it" and does understand what I was trying to achieve with this online presence. And that makes me feel really good, not to mention that it means I did a great job with web design so that my reviewer, generous with her time, did not get lost, confused, and mangled in the depths of my site.
First, I have to rave about Jaynie R herself. I came across her blog through an online writers/readers of erotica group we both belong to. (Check out EroticPublications hosted by Justus Roux on Yahoo.) It was her comments in one email to the group that caught my eye. This girl tells it like it is. She directs her reader to reality in an effort to prepare them for the real requirements of achieving their goals in writing romance and erotica rather than sugar-coating everything to encourage a bunch of lackadaisical wrters to spawn all over the place. She included the URL to her blog in her signature line, and I've been hooked ever since.

Jaynie is a reader/writer/reviewer of romance and erotica hailing from Melbourne, Australia. Her blog, Writing, Reading, Reviews, and Rubbish, is one of the most finely tuned resources for writers I've come across, because Jaynie provides real advice and lists the pet peeves and points out the faux pas that the rest of us rarely admit to having or committing. If you want to make sure your website, story line, or other mode of communication in the literal world are up to par, check the list of topics in her blog.

Once I read her insight into what makes a bad website and agreed with all the points wholeheartedly while deep into the process of bringing my own site to life, I was hungry for a review by Jaynie on my own website, not knowing if she really cared to spend her time on such a request. I was ready to have the book thrown at me, if necessary, get some real and honest feedback, and maybe a positive word or two to make proud additions to my website contents. I helped Jaynie out with a template, and she returned the favor with an incredibly insightful review. Her formal writing is just as fluid as the thoughts she shares with us in her daily blog.

Thank you, Jaynie, for taking the time out of your busy schedule and for all the flattering comments. I think you've convinced me already that I need to enable visitors to comment on my blog entries; I do love the interaction and idea exchange offered by the web. Now, I just have to figure out how to accomplish that considering I'm not using any handy blogging software. Hopefully, my readers will see that very, very soon.

And Jaynie's even more admirable for calling me on my own claim and challenging me with the question I was hoping to avoid for a while longer. "Ok, tell you want I want to know Tara: Is it you posing in all those sexy pictures?"

I admit to being the model for most of the photographs (I wasn't blessed with the lovely male body appearing in some spots.). I'm a practical woman...how else could I capture just the type of images necessary to color my site in my own personality and attitudes while not having to worry about model releases or infringing on copyrights? And hopefully I'm achieving the goal of confirming my own beliefs about sex and the human form as natural, beautiful, guilt-free, and wholly good.
