It's here; it's here! At last, it has arrived! My Playgirl magazine for the month of August has shown up on the figurative doorstep to reveal, "right up front and proud-like," a man disrobed and gazing at me from within his tightie whities! Still, I couldn't guess from the cover that this issue was to be the first real mark of the heavily touted "new" and improved Playgirl magazine.

Sure, the usual signs of change are there. New Editor-in-Chief, Jill Sieracki, presents her broad smile on the Editor's page over her promising message aptly titled "Talkin the (Dirty) Talk." Ah, but we've all heard it before, right? And mags change editors as often as I change...oh, that's right, I don't anymore! I've been born again and knicker-free this time!

Okay, so Jill did kindly call to inform me that "A Proper Fuck" (oh, how cute she was as her voice paused and carefully sounded the word "fuck" over the phone!), the first short-story I'd ever written, would be printed in the November issue of the magazine. So, I have to give her credit for that, but I have to say that I've always been into to Playgirl for the unique addition made to women's erotica by way of the photo layouts and the men within the pages. I can't recall reading the magazine that much, until more recently. I like my reading material to have "edge," you know? I definitely prefer my subscription to the sexual to be filled with provocative topics I can't just walk down to the local coffee house to hear discussed.

And yet, I found myself taken aback by this issue. Ladies and gentleman, the new Playgirl has indeed arrived. I don't know if her name is Jill, or Diane or Dana, or Isadora or Dr. Carol, or Megan, but she's there...somewhere working behind the scenes and seeping into the pages. There's a new voice echoing among the articles. Someone's leaked what women really want to read about, what our concerns and interests are, and what might just compel us to start reading the magazine for the articles. Ha! Now, which one of you told??? THANK YOU!
