This year's Fetish and Fantasy Halloween Ball is over - at least, Sin City's edition- and I've just about completely recovered. After five full hours of mixing and mingling with ghouls, gory goddesses, the fantasy costumed, and nearly naked alike, my feet are still killing me, glitter remains all over my body, and I'm wondering how to adjust to a full month with this purple hair...
After two months of living as a blonde, I was good and ready to go darker again... but not quite to my natural dark brown shade or favorite bright red tones. This is the month of Halloween, after all, and there was the ball to attend. After the slightest bit of deliberation, I decided to go purple... picture a bright and striking full head of long purple hair.

Days before the occasion, I decided to forego wearing my new black latex mini dress to the party. I finally got around to doing the research on latex clothing I should've done even before buying anything. As it turns out, latex is a better idea for short stints of wearing... like for a hot date, a sexual interlude, or a photo shoot. Otherwise, the latex clothing requires regular maintenance. Instead of slipping away to "powder your nose," you'll need to try to re-powder your body in a restroom stall or something about every hour.... if you don't want a long-lasting skin rash, that is. Because latex doesn't breathe, of course, nor does it allow you to sweat. I didn't want to spend the evening carrying a mysterious bag of white powder in a big purse and trying to spread it between my rubber-tight clothing and my sticky body regularly all night long.
But I wasn't going out without the new boots, of course. And I pulled out a leather mini skirt and my best corset... which happens to be purple as well. How perfect!
Believe it or not, I was the only person, man or woman, at the fetish ball with unnaturally colored hair. There were a few original wigs, but no other strikingly colored hair. Maybe that's why I was stopped by so many professional photographers and fellow party goers asking for me to pause and pose for them? Although I wasn't in costume, I was asked by one person if I was dressed as an anime girl...
Now, with the big ball behind me, and only a quiet Halloween ahead for me, I'm working on getting used to my unique purple hair that I'm left to live with through at least 3-4 weeks of normal life. I'm thinking many of my videos created over the coming weeks will have to be punk themed and take the new hair color into consideration. And I'm still getting used to being stared at more than I ever have before.
Every stranger's glance is now prolonged to at least 4 or 5 times longer than the standard and expected casual look upon passing someone. Really! And there's no friendly smile to go along with the odd stare although I'm always offering my own friendly smile to each of the onlookers. What's with that? Oddly enough, it's the little kids who are much more polite about seeing a girl with long purple hair in their midst. Nearly every one of them points at me and yells, "she has purple hair!" with such a brilliant and excited smile on their face. That's a beautiful thing to see.
As for the Fetish and Fantasy Halloween Ball itself.... I'm getting to that. I did take my camera and have so, so, so many cool photos to share including all the interesting party goers dressed in their fetish and fantasy best. Oh, what a night! And I've been told that one of the professional photographers who snagged me for a few select photos for himself and happens to specialize in fetish photography will be forwarding me copies of the photos he took of me. I can't wait to see them for myself and share them with you!
Stay tuned...
