Sex is as important as eating or drinking
and we ought to allow the one appetite to be satisfied
with as little restraint or false modesty as the other.
–Marquis De Sade

It's difficult setting up a new blog. You know what's in your head, the ordinary
parts of your life, and the really secret passages that lie within your brain.
There's a wealth of material to choose from, so which do you go with? Do you
pick a point to your blog or is the point you and the blog's just a
reflection of all the inane, mundane, and insane happenings that make you an
individual? |

There's a fun and quick quiz online in which you're flashed a severely cropped
image and have to guess whether the small shot is of a woman's butt, boobs, or
shoulder. And my, those creases are deceiving! |

What would sex be without the element of surprise? I imagine it exists in the
world, but I hope I never have to know it.
Sex is play, an act involving young senses finely tuned to new discoveries,
insight, and subtleties. It should be approached, with little distracting
thought, like living. It should exist in the moment with all senses focused and
heightened and nothing distracted by past or present. |

I'm always online, and I'm always seeking out new information. And learning
more about the subject of sex is always the most fun. Creating this site
alone required a lot of research. I wanted to get a feel for how I
related to the world of sex and which topics I wanted to approach. I wanted
to see just where my own interests lie and where they do with others.
Research is certainly a part of a writer's life as well. We're always
gleaning new ideas from one source or another. |

Few things are more satisfying, especially to a writer, than knowing you're
being heard. Startling though, is realizing you're being heard by an unintended
audience. Not one day after I write my blog entry about the surprising rejection
of my application to the
Cunning Linguists directory, I receive a message from one of the admins
working behind the scenes there. |

My fellow erotica writer, Vasper Janik, and I were swapping sordid stories and
past experiences earlier today as we quickly realized the telling of the tales
was providing excellent motivation for writing. The very moments we'd been so
involved with at one instant in our lives were inspiring of their own accord:
great material for a story and superb imagery for poetry. Before we knew it,
Vasper was writing well into the night and I was jotting down subject ideas for
future stories. |

Upon receipt of the e-mail, I was so perturbed. Within minutes of submitting
TaraTainton.com to one of the many directories of sites with "mature
content," I was rejected. Hell, I haven't even gotten a rejection notice from an
editor yet! |

You're now looking at (the website of) the newest member of the Playgirl Posse.
My additional title is "Posse Ambassador." Sounds pretty impressive, doesn't it?
But what does it mean? I don't know... I received my latest issue of Playgirl
and discovered, much to my amusement, that there's a gathering of fellow gals
forming a posse to promote the magazine and its ideals. And who wouldn't want to
be officially known as a "playgirl?" |

I found a beautiful erotic photo collection presented on the
Ladyfire site.
Apparently, they showcase a new artist or gallery monthly. April highlights
photographer Victor Ivanovski. Check out the gallery and his own website as
well...very interesting photography capturing humans in more of their day-to-day
forms. |

If we are so evolved, enlightened, and free, then why do these laws still exist?? They're hilarious but not a laughing matter.
