I never thought too much about the meaning of a fetish. Our western society
likes ot slap the term onto various kinks and "alternative" play. But a
fetish is just a fetish, as simple as a turn on or complex as a must-have
fantasy. And an accent can be one of them. I have a thing for the English accent, and I'm far from the only one. Just a quick Google search reveals a fellow female in search of just such a man adorned with the sexy voice of an Englishman. Maybe you can help her out:
With a little more research after coming to terms with my own "thing" qualifying as a fetish, I find Actor George Clooney has a fetish for the British accent of his girlfriend. A large portion of Americans share the same English-accent fetish. Why? Because we love all things foreign, and the English accent is the default for historical context or even sex appeal in the movies we're exposed to. It's all around us. It's a wonder that we can even get off with each other and haven't insisted on faking our own English accents.
So, how can we (I!) indulge more? There's always Craig's list or other adult communities in which we could post up an ad just like the Asian girl above. We can always rent more movies. But what's better is being able to summon up the accent on command... Check out the Collect Britain site. There's an entire archive of various English accents and dialects to indulge in. I'm playing one right now. If only they weren't discussing so technically and intellectually. I need some good manly chatter, some discourse over a few pints.
