I can't help but think of premature ejaculation as the young high school boy's
disease and misfortune, yet the predicament can actually plague any man at any
time. I also like to think that we, their beautiful and awe-inspiring partners,
are the one to cause men to lose their self-control. Still, it's our misfortune
as much as theirs when it happens. Thankfully, the first drug formulated to treat premature ejaculation will be marketed in the US if all goes well and it meets the Food and Drug Administration's approval. Yahoo! News' article, "Premature Ejaculation Drug Delays Climax," delivers the good news. The drug is reported to have "delayed climax and increased reported satisfaction." A clinical trial conducted with the help of 2,614 more than willing male participants found "significant improvements in sexual function, including ejaculatory control, satisfaction with sexual intercourse for men and their partners, and increases in intravaginal ejaculatory latency time." The new drug is called dapoxetine; be sure to watch for it.
The stats show that as much as 27-34% of men of all ages experiences premature ejaculation. We're all aware of Viagra's popularity. Still, erectile dysfunction only affects 10-12% of men. I think men are gonna get really excited about the debut of dapoxetine. Just what is premature ejaculation? It's taking only 1.8 minutes to ejaculate after beginning intercourse. Most men can (or choose to) hold out for a whopping 7.3 minutes. Just where are these men? They need some training... We do know that the impact premature ejaculation can have on a male ego, their partner's satisfaction, and the overall health of their mutual relationship. Luckily, the new drug has proven to increase "intravaginal ejaculatory latency time" by three or four times. That's a beautiful thing. We can now look forward to the personal experience tales, and the fiction stories as well, that develop once this drug hits the market. Have fun, boys!
